I learned how to make a chess/checkerboard out of veneer so I could help teach a class to 6th and 7th graders at BARN (Bainbridge Artisan resource Network). All of the corners had to match up "perfectly," which is an impossible goal to reach in anything in life...unless you're a machine. But I, and the students, got pretty close!
